Stereotyping is a major thing in high school. It's a major habit everywhere, but high schoolers have more of an affect.
When you are a different race stereotyping is inevitable. Everyone stereotypes. Adults and kids.
For example, if you're:
Caucasian, poeple think you are full of yourself, rich, and racist. People see you as smart and possible good-looking.
African American, people think that they are troublesome brats and don't care much about education. They all are gansters and love basketball. Fun overall people.
Hispanic, people tend to think that are loud, trouble makers (most at least). Also, that the girls are mostly snobby, dramatic and cocky. They all want attention. For the boys people think that they are all cocky as well and that they are all goofy. All in all people think that they are cool people that could only be handles if you are good with drama and attitude.
Asian, people think that all you care about is work, work, work. That you have strict parents and are uptight. You only eat certain types of food, and that you don't seem fun at all. They all look alike and are very very smart.
These are the major races that are stereotyped. But we all have to know that everyone is and acts differently. If we were suppose to be the same as our race then we would look alike and act the same as everyone else of our race, but we don't so people have to stop being so ignorant and arrogent (again I say this), because we assume too much and we try to make ourselves feel better.
Some times stereotyping hurts. It leaves you without friends and makes people not talk to you. Some times people are bullied because of their ethnicity and later they result in a bad way and think negatively on everything. Most that is. Some people can stand it and just ignore it. They live their lives the same and just laugh it out, leaving it in the past.
Students have to deal with stereotyping everyday they come to school. Either by the way they walk, dress, talk, and who they hang out with. This is just another annoyance in high school students life.
